Inclusive Workspaces

Every day, more companies are realizing that hiring employees with disabilities not only makes good business sense, but that it is vital to the growth and development of our community. Our team is committed to supporting area employers by helping them to feel confident about diversifying their workforce through the hiring of individuals with disabilities.

The decision to hire employees with disabilities benefits not only the client and community, but also the employer in a number of tangible ways including:

  • Accessing a Larger Talent Pool

Employers can hire the best workers available and feel comfortable that their employees can provide beneficial and productive services for the benefit of their company.

  • Highly Motivated Work Force

Individuals with disabilities often have a strong desire to be self-supporting and will put in a greater amount of effort than one might expect. Working age people are among the most unemployed segments of society.

  • Improved Image

Hiring employees with disabilities creates a positive image that will help build a company’s reputation, impact and contribution to their community. In fact, studies have shown that 92% of consumers feel more favorable toward companies that employ individuals with disabilities.

  • Increased Sales

People with disabilities are the largest minority group in the US and they account for $200 billion in spending annually.

  • Tax Benefit

Businesses hiring employees with disabilities may also benefit from local, state, or federal tax breaks, such as the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), allowing them to make their businesses more accessible to people with disabilities.

  • Meeting Federal Contractor Requirements

According to federal guidelines, all federal government contractors are required to take affirmative action to employ individuals with disabilities. In fact, new rules have expanded this definition to include employing at least 7% people with disabilities.

We are happy to work with employers to develop strategies to hire, train, evaluate, accommodate, and maintain employees with disabilities. In addition, ILE will provide job coaching for our clients, both in and outside the workplace, to remediate any skills necessary to remain a productive employee. These services are provided at no cost to the employer. This is because ILE strongly believes that employees with disabilities are productive workers and should be held to the same standards as other employees.

Additionally, ILE whole-heartedly believes in the value that employees with disabilities can add to the workforce and the community.
